DR. ROTIMI AGBOOLAGORITE-DIRECTOR, DISEASE CONTROL
Dr. Agbolagorite Ayodele Olurotimi was born in Lagos on October 10,1964. He attended Methodist Primary School, 321,Herbert Macaulay Street, Yaba later proceeded to Antony Village High School, Mokuolu Street, Antony Village.
He later attended University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State and bagged a degree of Bachelors of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1993; Masters in Public Health (MPH) in 2012 from the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), Ikeja. He started his professional career as a private health care practitioner in various private hospitals in Lagos State between 1995 and 2001.
He started his career in the State Civil Service as a Medical Officer in LASAMBUS, Ministry of Health in February 2001.In September 2001, he was posted to the Directorate of Health Care Planning Research and Statistics (DHCPRS), Ministry of Health where he served as the procurement officer for the World Bank – supported Health Systems Development Project II (HSDP – II) till June 2008. In 2008,he became the Program Manager (HSDP – II)and served in this capacity till December 2010. He also headed the Project Implementation Unit of the DHCPRS until June 2012 after when he was posted to the Directorate of Disease Control as an Assistant Director in the capacity of the State AIDS Control Program Coordinator (SAPC) till May 2019.
In May 2019, he became the Head of the Directorate of Disease Control, Lagos State Ministry of Health where he is serving till date.
Dr. Agbolagorite A. Olurotimi is a seasoned civil servant, a member of the Nigerian Medical and Dental Council, Medical Guild Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria; University of Benin Alumni.
His hobbies are reading, travelling, knowing people and places, listening to good music.
