HEALTH DISTRICT III TASKS STAFF ON STRATEGIC APPROACH TO HEALTHCARE DELIVERY

Medical Officers of Health (MOHs), and the entire staff of Lagos State Health District III have been told to adopt a strategic approach towards ensuring improved healthcare access for the residents of Eti-Osa, Ibeju-Lekki, Epe and the surrounding areas.

The Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke gave the charge during her inaugural meeting with Directors, Heads of Departments and Units within the District after her deployment as the pioneer Accounting Officer of the District.

She emphasised the significance of teamwork, innovation and a patient-centred approach in realising the District’s goals, just as she reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to continued engagement and support for the advancement of healthcare within the District.

Adeleke told the staff that she is committed to collaborating with essential stakeholders in the District to drive healthcare advancements through innovation and patient-centred approaches, aligning with Mr. Governor’s vision for a thriving Lagos.

She maintained that the staff of the District, who are the ‘foot soldiers’ in transforming her vision and the vision of the State Governor into reality, must be prepared for the task ahead and adopt strategies that fit into situations as they arise.

Dr. Adeleke emphasised the need to ensure accessible quality care for all residents of Health District III, stressing that health services at the primary health centres must not only be accessible but also affordable without compromising healthcare standards.

While promising that the well-being of the staff will be a top priority, the Permanent Secretary stressed that measures that will enhance staff morale, motivation and retention would be introduced to foster a conducive and compassionate work environment.
