Dr. Kuburat Enitan Layeni-Adeyemo was born on January 13, 1961. She attended the University of London, Goldsmiths College for her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Chemistry (Combined Honours). She thereafter proceeded to the University of Ibadan to obtain a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1990; Masters of Science (MSc.) in Infection & Health in the Tropics (Clinical Tropical Medicine) in 1994 from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine; DTM & H from the Royal College of Physicians UK and latter Masters in Public Health (MPH) in 2002 from the University of Lagos under a World Health Organisation Fellowship Program.
She started her working career at the Directorate of Primary Health Care and Disease Control as Head of Division in Maternal & Child Health before her deployment to the Directorate of Occupational Health/Environmental Health/Staff Clinic in 2006, where with her team she has brought occupational health practices to the consciousness of both employers and employees of labour.
Dr. Layeni- Adeyemo is a good team player, stricter for hard work and excellence without complaining, even under pressure.
Her professional and expertise involves a sound grasp of the principles of diagnosis and management of patients with infection particularly those acquired in the tropics and sub tropics; and good understanding of public health issues, with special interest in primary health care interventions.
Dr. Layeni-Adeyemo is a member of the Nigerian Medical& Dental Council; Medical Guild Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria; University of Ibadan Alumni; University of London Alumni; Japan International cooperation Assistance of the Japanese Government; London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine; and Volunteer to Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria.
Her hobbies are travelling, listening and dancing to music, swimming, reading and cooking.
